Shakedown Citi Fort Lauderdale Concert reviews
REO Still Rockin
Dave Amato picked up right where Gary left off, even though founding member Gary Richrath (God rest is soul) is missed. Kevin Cronin still has his unique and unmistakable tone, and his story telling was outstanding throughout the show. Bruce Hall and Neal Doughty remain two of the best in the business as bassist and keyboard player. They played all the old favorites, much to everyone's delight. I loved Kevin's solo acoustic version of Golden Country, which I thought was apropos for our time. They played an awesome version of "Two Tickets to Paradise" in tribute to the late Eddie Money during the encore. "Ridin the Storm Out" and "Roll With the Changes" transported me back to my high school days in Illinois when the band was rockin the bar scene in Champaign. After 50 years, Shakedown Citi is still rockin. What a great night! Overall, one of the very best classic rock n roll bands still playing.
